Jeffrey Connell
St. Thomas More Graduate
"Our son, Jeffrey Connell, attended St. Thomas More. He was totally accepted and supported by the students there. He was a member of their basketball team for four years. When he got into a game, his teammates tried very hard to get the ball to him so that he would have an opportunity to score. They cheered for him and enjoyed his success as much as he did.
"One of the other things he loved was being an altar boy. He loved serving Mass. One year he ran for student council.
"When he wasn't elected, he was extremely disappointed. The boy who won the election realized this and went to the moderator. He offered to be responsible for him if she allowed Jeff to attend their meetings. She agreed, and both boys were proud of the compromise. He went to all of their dances.
"When he graduated from St. Thomas More, he was invited to parties for weeks after school ended. Some of the boys are still his friends. He attends their basketball and football games. As for parents, we couldn't have asked for a better grade school experience than that. As for Jeff, he has very happy memories of his days there, and still enjoys going back and visiting with all his old teachers and friends."
