Kirstin Wagoner, St. Anthony alumna
|
Kristin joined St. Anthony School Programs in the seventh grade after moving to Pittsburgh with her parents. Though she was born with a rare seizure disorder called pyridoxine dependency, Kristin has excelled not only in her educational studies at St. Anthony’s but also in her vocational work. As she moved through high school, Kristin was able to participate in an advanced chorus class and a small singing group at the school.
Kristin began taking piano lessons in the third grade, and it didn’t take her long to realize that it was something she loved to do. She takes lessons with a private music teacher once a week. At home she tries to practice for a half-hour at least five days a week by playing a little after school and some right before bed. Her favorite types of music to perform are classical, worship and Broadway showtunes. She has been a featured performer at many St. Anthony’s functions including our Golf Invitational and during the cocktail hour for the Opportunity Award Dinner, and has also played during the worship service at her church.
When she’s not practicing the piano, Kristin enjoys scrap booking and is working on a scrapbook for the summer vacations she takes with her family and the St. Anthony School Program events she has attended. |
